This calico was covered in several pounds of matted fur. It is one of the most severe cases ever seen. Luckily, she got some much needed help. (Scroll down for video.)
“This poor cat was brought to our clinic yesterday after her elderly owner passed away. She suffered from severe matting (dreadlocks, really), the likes of which had been neglected for years,” Animal Rescue League Shelter & Wildlife Center shared on Facebook.
“Our Medical team shaved off the pounds of intertwined fur from her body &, needless to say, this cat is feeling so much better now! She will be cared for by a distant relative of her previous owner & finally have a chance at a happy & healthy life.”
The calico was sedated before the procedure.
The calico is much happier now with out all that dead weight!
